[Bug 302595] GDM doesn't reflect init 3

Ok, so what i was able to do was run init 5 followed by init 3 really quickly
(ie before init 5 finished) and it appeared the pid file did not get written
out in time by startproc so killproc failed since it needs that file. That
doesn't seem like a gdm failure really.
Ladislav, does that match up with what you saw when testing?
