No, the original code that appears in the /etc/modprobe.d/sound file is only:
options snd-hda-intel position_fix=1 index=0
The 3stack option was added by myself after scouring various forums. I wanted
to make a correction and say that the chipset is Sigmatel 9228 and the laptop
in question is a Dell Vostro 1400. It is a new model laptop from Dell and I am
thinking that Yast does not recognize it yet and this is possibly why the
options are not set correctly.
It is also strange to note that even when I set the 3stack option, I have to
place:
rcalsasound restart in the /etc/init.d/boot.local or either manually run
rcalsasound restart once in the KDE desktop or I will not get sound output from
the speakers. Also, the KDE sound system will cause the audio to not function
as well, so that must be disabled.
Do you need anymore information in the form of diagnostic command outputs?
Thanks Again
