https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=309610 Summary: Full system crash. Direct crash at reboot. Second reboot working fine. Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: i386 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.2 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: sndirsch@novell.com ReportedBy: jhonsame@gmail.com QAContact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: Customer Created an attachment (id=163312) --> (https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=163312) The Konqueror error message after succesfull reboot Hello My quite fresh OpenSuse 10.2 crashed just a few minutes ago. I was doing usual stuff: checking web pages, listening to LastFM (webplayer version). The screen froze, and X crashed. The login screen appeared, but logging in was impossible, because the password disapeared before I could finish typing it. I went back to kernel mode and tried logging in with root there. To no avail. I tried shutting down the PC by pressing the power button, but halfway the shutdown it stalled as well. Shut down my pc by keeping the power button pressed until the bios took over. When rebooting the system stalled again, so I had to reboot it the hard way agin. The errors I saw in kernel mode was: sh:line1:826 segmentation fault Fatal error running install command for ATA_PLX and a small memory dump I hope this helps in keeping X stable and prevents other users from having the same trouble. Neil PS: It was not possible to add multiple attachments, although the OpenSuse bug wiki specifically asks for more files and not to compress them, so I put them in a single TXT file -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
