I'm currently doing the qa of this update:

When updating the kernel from 2.6.18.8-0.3 to 2.6.18.8-0.5 on /dev/hda9 the
entry

title XEN -- SUSE Linux Enterprise 10 SP1 - 2.6.16.46-0.14
    kernel (hd0,15)/boot/xen-3.0.4_13138-0.47.gz
    module (hd0,15)/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.16.46-0.14-xen root=/dev/hda16 vga=normal
console=ttyS0,19200 console=tty0 selinux=0 splash=silent showopts
    module (hd0,15)/boot/initrd-2.6.16.46-0.14-xen

to a foreign partition is removed.

hint: the partition /dev/hda16 is formated with xfs but the kernel module is
not loaded at the time that the kernel is updated on /dev/hda9.

Attaching boot menus before/after and yast2 log (with full debugging) in a
minute.
