[Bug 308994] New: German help text for installation - disk partitioning tool - expert mode
- From: bugzilla_noreply@xxxxxxxxxx
- Date: Sat, 8 Sep 2007 09:44:55 -0600 (MDT)
- Message-id: <bug-308994-21960@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/>
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=308994#c5
Summary: German help text for installation - disk partitioning
tool - expert mode
Product: openSUSE 10.3
Version: Beta 3
Platform: All
OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3
Status: NEW
Severity: Minor
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Translations
AssignedTo: ke@xxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: tilman@xxxxxxx
QAContact: ke@xxxxxxxxxx
Found By: Beta-Customer
When installing openSUSE-10.3-Beta3-DVD-x86_64, selecting German language, and
selecting user defined hard disk partitioning, on the page:
"Festplatte vorbereiten: Expertenmodus" (prepare hard disk: expert mode)
the help text in the left frame is partially in English in the
"Partitionsbezeichnungen" (partition names) section, including the paragraph
starting "Note: this is always #5 ...".
Also, where the German text states that "a modern boot manager like LILO"
allows booting from an extended partition, it seems to imply that the default
boot manager GRUB doesn't. This could be formulated more clearly, perhaps by
simply adding "oder GRUB".
Further, the help text contains an explanation for the column "Verwendet von",
but the column it does explain is actually called "Belegt von". (Which means
more or less the same, but still, in a help text, you should avoid all sources
of confusion.)
And finally, there is an explanation for a field "Mounten durch" which seems to
be a leftover, as there is no such field on the page.
