Thanks for the report. I sent an email to Mark Nudelman (author of less):

Hi Mark,

when running:
MORE=-l LESS_IS_MORE=1 less
I get the error message:
Value is required after -l

Less includes not documented option -l which requires the line number to
jump to after opening the file. However more uses -l switch for other
reason. Please, could you consider to use another letter for less option
or what would you suggest?
