I am still having this issue in openSUSE 10.2 with kernel-default-2.6.18.8-0.5
x86_64 and wlan-kmp-default-1_2.6.18.2_34-16.
What package revisions in openSUSE should contain the fix?
> sudo iwconfig eth1 mode monitor
Error for wireless request "Set Mode" (8B06) :
SET failed on device eth1 ; Invalid argument.
