https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=307419 Summary: Installation of the kernel-default RPM fails with an error Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Beta 2 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: lenz@grimmer.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- During the installation of 10.3b2 from the KDE CD-ROM, the installation of the kernel-default package fails with the following message: "/etc/sysconfig/bootloader" is missing. Not sure if this is actually the real cause of the failure, the y2log attached contains some more funny stuff that happened, e.g. GetBootloader(): Cannot determine the loader type at /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8/Bootloader/Tools.pm line 758. The command "mdadm" is not available. Is the package "mdadm" installed? sh: /etc/sysconfig/bootloader: No such file or directory It may also be noteworthy that I use a shared /boot partition for all the versions of SUSE I have installed (currently 10.2 and 10.3b2, each on a separate LVM for the root file system). Attached please find the y2log, let me know if you need any additional info. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
