Yes, md falls (partially) in this area. The old (pre-1.0) metadata format is
indeed stored at the end of the device.
And guess which format SUSE is using per default :-(
Hmm. Maybe it's time to switch to newer metadata format here.
dm / lvm2 / evms stores its metadata at the beginning, so no problem there.
