I have the same problem. If I leave the option "Hinzufügen von Online-Depots
vor der Installation" (add online depositories before the installation) checked
as it is by default, the installation page will show, below the
"Software-Auswahl" (software selection) heading, a red message:
"Abhängigkeiten können nicht automatisch gelöst werden. Ein manueller
Eingriff ist erforderlich." (Dependencies cannot be resolved automatically.
Manual intervention is required.) and after that there is no way to complete
the installation successfully.
Specifically:
- Clicking the "Software Selection" header leads to the "Software Selection"
page, first showing nothing amiss, but as soon as I try to do anything
significant, a "warning" window pops up showing two dependency conflicts:
"Cannot install product:openSUSE-factory, because it is conflicting with
openSUSE-DVD5-download"
and
"No valid solution found with just resolvables of best architecture."
- Checking the option "don't install openSUSE-factory" on the first one and
"Make a solver run with all possibilities." on the second one and clicking
"OK - check again" clears the messages from the warning window, but the
warning window itself remains, empty as it is.
- Clicking "cancel" makes it go away, but from then on, every time I try to
leave the "Software Selection" page by clicking "Accept", the warning window
with the "Dependency conflicts" header pops up again, still empty. Clicking
"OK - check again" does nothing. Clicking "cancel" puts me back into the
"Software Selection" dialog.
The only way out is to click "cancel" in the Software Selection dialog, which
leads back to the Installation Settings page. I can then start the installation
but it aborts soon after formatting the root partition, telling me:
The Installation of package ./suse/x86_64/grub-0.97-78.x86_64.rpm has failed.
libncurses.so.5 is needed by grub-0.97-78.x86_64
So there is something fundamentally broken in the package selection.
Like for the reporter, if I remember unchecking the "add online depositories
before the installation" option at the beginning, none of these problems occur.
