- From: bugzilla_noreply@xxxxxxxxxx
- Date: Sat, 1 Sep 2007 03:36:43 -0600 (MDT)
- Message-id: <bug-307017-21960@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/>
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=307017
Summary: brp-desktop.data/xdg_menu doesn't know standard icon
theme application names
Product: openSUSE 10.3
Version: Beta 2
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Other
Status: NEW
Severity: Major
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Basesystem
AssignedTo: nadvornik@xxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: stbinner@xxxxxxxxxx
QAContact: qa@xxxxxxx
CC: dmueller@xxxxxxxxxx
Found By: Development
The build time .desktop file icon check doesn't know about the standard
application icon names as defined on
http://standards.freedesktop.org/icon-naming-spec/icon-naming-spec-latest.html
which lets builds fail with error if eg a desktop file contains
"Icon=system-file-manager" while all of gnome-icon-theme, tango-icon-theme and
oxygen-icon-theme provide it.
Even worse, maintainers seem to create symlinks in common /usr/share/pixmaps to
work-around this check like
/usr/share/pixmaps/utilities-system-monitor.png ->
./icons/gnome/32x32/apps/utilities-system-monitor.png
