I have reworked the dm_linear feature somewhat.
We now have a script /sbin/activate_dm_linear which takes a device name as an
argument and generates a udev rule for creating a linear device-mapper device
on top of the given device.
This is a much cleaner solution than previously which enable device-mapper
devices for all scsi disks and interfered with the normal system operations.
I have asked snwint to include that script into the installation images, so the
script will be available during installation and the user can (manually)
activate it for any device which require this support.
Updated multipath-tools and kpartx rpm are already submitted, so we can close
this.
