--- Comment #22 from Thomas Meindl 2007-08-28 02:28:01 MST ---
I fiddled around with the second patch that is mentioned on the gentoo wiki
page (the powerman patch:
http://powerman.asdfgroup.com/download/kernel/nek4k-2.6.20.patch ). After
applying the changes manually to the 2.6.22.2 kernel, I got all the keys of the
keyboard recognizable to evtest (package input-utils). The only issue was with
the "One" to "Five" keys, which showed up as one key with the same keycode 464.
They could be told apart by different (status)values, that means the following:
"One" code 464 value (1,0,2) ==(pressed,released,pressed continously)
"Two" code 464 value (2) (the 2 seems interfere with "pressed
cont." event-value, so that there is no value for "key pressed" or "key
released")
"Three" code 464 value (4,0,2)
"Four" code 464 value (8,0,2)
"Five" code 464 value (16,0,2)
So there is a flaw in the code, but a skilled kernel-programmer surly would
find a simple solution for that. I think this is the basic approach, if all of
the special keys shall be supported.
I also tried to apply the changes to the XKB files, but had no luck to get the
mapping working so far.
