https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=305041 Summary: every time I try to configure NIS in yast, NIS domain set to FQDN Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Beta 2 Platform: IA64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: erikj@sgi.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com CC: jh@sgi.com, edwardsg@sgi.com Found By: Third Party Developer/Partner Every time I try to configure an NIS client using YaST in OpenSUSE 10.3 (the unofficial ia64 version) - it seems that YaST lists the NIS domain as my fully qualified domain name and then takes a long long time to fail. I notice that /etc/defaultdomain does have the domain set to what I entered in the NIS domain blank, but every time I try to start the NIS module of YaST, it still lists the FQDN where it should list the NIS domain. When I first changed the NIS domain to be the right domain, I forgot to remove the FQDN from the 'Addional NIS domains' list. I did that in a separate run and the problem still persisted. Please note that I'm using broadcast binding and have the 'start automounter' box checked. Although it may eventually timeout when I click 'finish', I don't wait that long. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
