The ThinkPad injection daemon causes a lot of other trouble (When it's running,
it's almost impossible to select reasonable volume, because the keys change the
amplifier volume in hardware, plus KDE changes the mixer volume as an action
based on the injected keypress. The two changes multiply, resulting in very
coarse volume steps. An even worse problem happens when one tries to change
display brightness: The key is pressed, the event injected, KDE changes
brightness, which
causes the bits in CMOS to toggle, which causes another event to be injected,
and so on in a loop, until a maximal/minimal brightness is reached. Enough of a
rant though.), but it is not involved here: The Fn key emits a regular scancode
seen on the keyboard.
Result: The injection daemon isn't involved, it's the X mapping. How can I
remove the <i63> mapping on a live system without redoing the package? Is it
enough to change symbols/pc?
