Maybe there is one thing you can still try.
1) disable dbus, haldaeomon, earlyxdm and xdm for boot
2) reboot
3) backup /var/log/warn and /var/log/messages
4) run "dbus; haldaemon; earlyxdm"
5) Attach backups for /var/log/{warn,messages} and the files themselves.
Does the problem persist?
