* clean install of beta1, build 908, default gnome
* have http://download.opensuse.org/update/10.3 and install media as software
repositories. 
* clicked on opensuse-updater applet icon in task area of panel
* OpenSUSE Update window came up, with no updates listed.
* clicked on Install button anyway
* entered root password
* yast online update window came up, refreshed
* Patch selector - YaST window came up and listed two updates:
update-test-optional and rubygems (security)

Note the icon on opensuse updater applet in the panel did not change either.
