https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=297801
Summary: Bluetooth: Inquiry scan get never enabled
Product: openSUSE 10.3
Version: Alpha 7
Platform: x86-64
OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3
Status: NEW
Severity: Normal
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Network
AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: funtasyspace@xxxxxxxxx
QAContact: qa@xxxxxxx
Found By: ---
Although 'iscan enable;' is set in /etc/bluetooth/hcid.conf, Inquiry scan is
not enabled for my bluetooth devices. This can be verified by calling
'hciconfig hci0' as root after bluetooth has been started (rcbluetooth start).
The result is, that the device cannot be discovered by other bluetooth devices.
I experienced this bug with openSUSE 10.2 already, seems like it's still there.
This bug is not specific to certain devices, because I experience it on all my
bluetooth equipped machines.
At the moment, the only way to enable Inquiry scan is calling
'hciconfig hci0 piscan' as root. This will enable page scan and inquiry scan
for the device.
Regards,
Jörg
