There is the problem... the device is a so called "MTP" device.
(MTP - Media Transfer Protocol)
These have only appeared recently and Linux software is not fully
up to it.
The above device actually connected to mtp-detect just fine, otherwise
it would not have dumped that much information. So it is "working" on
the driver level.
It needs special handling currently.
- KDEs Amarok in 10.2 can sync with the MTP devices, but its not working fully
yet.
- The mtp-* tools can access the device, but are a bad user experience.
- The command line gphoto2 tool should work for transfering files, but
is a commandline tool ... not a good user experience either.
Thats it. Not much good tools in 10.2 and 10.3 is just barely better.
