[Bug 289088] The automatic setup for the x-server doesn' t select the correct driver

Not sure, what you did exactly. I suggest to edit only the screen section and
change all the 1400x1050 entries with 1024x768 entries. There should modelines
for this standard resolution be predefined in the Xserver modeline pool. So you
don't need to specify one. Attach the new Xorg.0.log afterwards.
