https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=289007 Summary: libX11/libxcb no longer supports unix: notation Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Alpha 5 Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: Blocker Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: sndirsch@novell.com ReportedBy: sndirsch@novell.com QAContact: sndirsch@novell.com Found By: Development Looks like new libX11/libxcb no longer supports unix: notation in $DISPLAY. How to reproduce: on 10.2: DISPLAY=unix:0 xterm --> works DISPLAY=:0 xterm --> works on 10.3 with libX11/libxcb: DISPLAY=unix:0 xterm --> xterm Xt error: Can't open display: unix:0 DISPLAY=:0 xterm --> works Looking at the strace output it seems libX11/libxcb thinks that "unix" was a hostname in the network. It isn't handled differently than hostnames like "foo" or "bar". Check with strace. Building libX11 without xcb fixes this issue. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
