https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=288862 Summary: bootloader install kills thinkpad rescue feature Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Alpha 5 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: odabrunz@novell.com ReportedBy: snwint@novell.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- We've had this in the past and I'm seeing this now again on my X60: yast installs grub into the mbr overwriting the thinkpad bootloader. When you do this, the rescue partition no longer starts. IMO there are two problems: 1) grub should _never ever_ be installed into the mbr 2) if it is, there is a script ('tp_mr') to be used on thinkpads (which unfortunately no longer works correctly with x60 and needs to be adjusted) I can do 2) but I'm not sure this script is still used; please have a look. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
