https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=282047 Summary: vnc install fails after reboot; no network adapter initialized Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Alpha 4plus Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: jeffm@novell.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com I performed a VNC network install of STABLE this afternoon and when it rebooted to complete the installation, I saw this: *** *** Please return to your X-Server screen to finish installation *** starting VNC server... A log file will be written to: /var/log/YaST2/vncserver.log ... *** *** You can connect to , display :1 now with vncviewer *** Or use a Java capable browser on http://:5801/ *** (When YaST2 is finished, close your VNC viewer and return to this window.) The network hadn't been initialized yet, so there was no way to connect to the VNC server. Control-C aborted yast, but since I had no way to enter a root password, the system was unusable until manual intervention via the rescue system. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
