Yes, those are the only messages in teh kernel log (verbosity 5; I can increase
it to 7 and see). It is a DVD, so obviously, it can't be written to (and it is
mounted 'ro', just in case). There is no media error, AFAIK.
Ok, let's try; I define:
KERNEL_LOGLEVEL=7
restart syslog, mount:
Jun 5 21:41:42 nimrodel kernel: Filesystem "loop3": Disabling barriers, not
supported by the underlying device
Jun 5 21:41:42 nimrodel kernel: XFS mounting filesystem loop3
Jun 5 21:41:43 nimrodel kernel: Ending clean XFS mount for filesystem: loop3
umount and eject:
Jun 5 21:42:50 nimrodel kernel: xfs_force_shutdown(loop3,0x1) called from line
424 of file fs/xfs/xfs_rw.c. Return address = 0xf93e5588
Jun 5 21:42:50 nimrodel kernel: Filesystem "loop3": I/O Error Detected.
Shutting down filesystem: loop3
Jun 5 21:42:50 nimrodel kernel: Please umount the filesystem, and rectify the
problem(s)
Jun 5 21:42:50 nimrodel kernel: xfs_force_shutdown(loop3,0x1) called from line
424 of file fs/xfs/xfs_rw.c. Return address = 0xf93e5588
