Last night I installed the above mentioned RPM from
http://ftp-1.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/repositories/KDE:/KDE3/SUSE_Linux_10.0/i586/
, together with a bunch of other RPMs related to KDE. I know well that this
packet source cannot be regarded as stable, nonetheless, this morning kwin
fails to start with the following messages in ~/.xsession-errors:

Could not open library kwin.la: /opt/kde3/lib/libkdeinit_kwin.so: undefined
symbol: _ZNK11NETRootInfo24desktopLayoutOrientationEv
kwin: symbol lookup error: /opt/kde3/lib/libkdeinit_kwin.so: undefined symbol:
_ZNK11NETRootInfo24desktopLayoutOrientationEv

I think this should be dealt with as soon as possible, because I know for a
fact that many users do these "updates" and will probably run into this
problem.
