[Bug 280858] New: Kerry should feature "find-as-you-type"
- From: bugzilla_noreply@xxxxxxxxxx
- Date: Tue, 5 Jun 2007 03:22:06 -0600 (MDT)
- Message-id: <bug-280858-21960@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/>
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=280858
Summary: Kerry should feature "find-as-you-type"
Product: openSUSE 10.2
Version: Final
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Other
Status: NEW
Severity: Enhancement
Priority: P5 - None
Component: KDE
AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: ma2412ma@xxxxxxxxxxx
QAContact: qa@xxxxxxx
Similar to Spotlight in Mac OS X, Kerry should also feature "find-as-you-type",
meaning that the search starts with the first keypress and instantaneously
displays the results without having to press enter.
Right now, the behavior is not very user-friendly, because you have to use
wildcards. For instance, if I want to search a document called
"latest_linux_bugs.doc", I'd like to enter "latest" and the results should
appear. Right now, I have to enter "latest*" and confirm with enter. Moreover,
I'd also like to enter "bugs" and the file should come up. In its current
state, I have to enter "*bugs*" in order to find that file, which is very
inconvenient.
