If the cache is empty no changes will be made to the modelines.
Well in your first comment you said it wasn't possible to adapt the
screen size or position, if this is still the case it's clear why
the cache is empty and why no changes will are made.
Please remember my comment #4. The xfine application can only send a wish
for a new timing to the server, if the server can't change this timing
the range for changes is at its end. It may happen that you can't arrange
the screen as you wish to do. In such a case you can only try to change
the hsync/vsync frequencies within sax2 and give it a next try. The
new frequencies could cause another/better position and size of the
screen
