I checked the log files under /var/log/. None of them is owned by any package.

Also, EVMS reuses 20 log files (evms-daemon.log, evms-engine.log,
evms-daemon.1-9.log, evms-engine.1-9.log) by default. I don't think it's a good
idea to create a whole bunch of empty log files. 

Please let me know what you think about this issue in light of the two
observations.

file /var/log/XFree86.0.log is not owned by any package
file /var/log/Xorg.0.log is not owned by any package
file /var/log/boot.log is not owned by any package
file /var/log/slpd.log is not owned by any package
file /var/log/susehelp.log is not owned by any package
file /var/log/zmd-backend.log is not owned by any package
file /var/log/zmd-messages.log is not owned by any package
