- From: bugzilla_noreply@xxxxxxxxxx
- Date: Mon, 4 Jun 2007 04:54:08 -0600 (MDT)
- Message-id: <bug-280473-21960@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/>
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=280473
Summary: logfiles not owned by any package
Product: openSUSE 10.3
Version: Alpha 4plus
Platform: All
OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3
Status: NEW
Severity: Minor
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Other
AssignedTo: mt@xxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: lrupp@xxxxxxxxxx
QAContact: qa@xxxxxxx
The logfiles
/var/log/news/news.crit
/var/log/news/news.err
/var/log/news/news.notice
/var/log/mail.info
/var/log/mail.warn
/var/log/mail.err
/var/log/localmessages
/var/log/messages
/var/log/firewall
/var/log/warn
are currently not owned by any package.
They should be owned by packages/scripts who produce them or be "summarized" in
syslog or syslog-ng packages.
For the above ones I see only the "firewall" logfile which can perhaps be owned
by the SuSEfirewall2 package. So I assign it to the syslog-ng maintainer - feel
free to add other maintainers if they should keep track on "their" logfiles.
Using something like
%ghost %config(noreplace) /var/log/*
in the %files list should aviod verify-errors from RPM or security scanners.
