In reply to #6. Yes I think problem number 3 concerns the linuxrc part
of the netboot initrd but I can't reproduce that here on my machines.
The terminal I have is a Wyse VX terminal and all my other test machines
runs smoothly as well

If the process fails at that early stage it's hard to do remote
debugging. That's why I suggested to put a break point to the linuxrc
file, rebuild the netboot initrd and give it a try. What you get is 
a shell and so we could do some tests.
