The current release of Trolltech Qt4.3 segfaults (even qtdemo!) when using the
nvidia proprietary driver autoinstalled by yast!

This does not apply for more recent nvidia drivers (Tested with 100.14.06),
these drivers work fine and do not segfault.
According to Trolltech support, 97.55 does as well work fine.

The segfault is definitely caused by a bug in the nvidia driver.

Fixing yast updater to use a more recent nvidia proprietary driver solves the
problem.
