[Bug 277824] Dependency checking in package selection during installation takes ages

I don't have logs (as I hit reset after 20 minutes on a 1Ghz machine), but
seems to me, that the problem is somewhere around the GNOME patterns. When I
choose KDE as my desktop, as usual, dependency checking seems to work fine. If
I choose the Gnome desktop, or Gnome in addition to KDE, then I never had the
nerves to wait until dependency check is finished...
