https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=271749 mhorvath@novell.com changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|REOPENED |NEEDINFO Info Provider| |amuller@alum.mit.edu ------- Comment #4 from mhorvath@novell.com 2007-05-24 06:47 MST ------- You should be able to switch to another tty, e.g. 6, by hitting Ctrl+Alt+F6. Then you'll need a external storage device, e.g. a flash disk. Plug it in and mount using this command: mount /dev/XX /mnt , where XX might be sda, sdb, sdc etc. + number e.g. sda1 or sda2 or sdb1 and so on (type 'mount /dev/sd' and press Tab to see available devices). Now you are able to write data to your flash disk, it's mounted in /mnt directory. So, copy the logs in there by typing: cp -r /var/log /mnt . Now all the logs are on your flash disk. Before plugging it out type: eject /dev/XX (XX is the sd + something + number, as before). Please switch also to tty4 (Ctrl+Alt+F4) and take a photo of it, there should be syslogd logs. And that's all :) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
