[Bug 253397] KDE keyboard settings: "use menu key as compose key" does not work (Thinkpad T60)

On my desktop computer, I activated the same KDE setting, and it works: xev
shows Multi_key when I press the menu key, and it works as compose character.
On my Thinkpad, xev shows Menu, and it doesn't work as compose character.
I don't know what exactly is going on, but to me it seems that it does not work
as expected.
