https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=275888 Summary: No hard drives found when trying to install Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Alpha 4 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: mboman@novell.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com When I boot to install 10.3 Alpha4 on an Thinkpad T43P, I can see that it claims to load ata_piix. But the install complains that there are no hard drives. cat /proc/partitions shows nothing. lsmod reveals that ata_piix is not loaded. Doing a modprobe ata_piix finds my hard drives and I can start the install. SLED10, SLED10SP1RC4 and openSUSE 10.3A3+ all installed without any issues on this machine. An install from the same media on an Thinkpad T41P works without any issues. Will attach hwinfo, lsmod and dmesg in a second. Let me know what else you need. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
