[Bug 245711] OpenOffice freezes X11

Arrgh! What a coincidence: right after i was done with this I hit this problem
myself. Thanks to the detailed analysis in this ticket I was able to recover my
server (no I didn't have my patch installed :( ).
It seems as if the process is hanging in the syscall as it never gets
scheduled. Instead the itimer gets called quite a high rate producing the cpu
load.
disabling the timer immediately recovers the system.
This was the first time I have hit this problem and I really don't like to
reproduce it on my production system.
