https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=259693 Summary: suspend to ram: resume hangs Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Alpha 2 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Mobile Devices AssignedTo: behlert@novell.com ReportedBy: mbra@gmx.ch QAContact: qa@suse.de Hardware: Laptop Thinkpad T60 (2007-FUG) with Core 2 Duo OS: kernel-default-2.6.20.2-2 (10.3 x86_64) and kernel-default-2.6.21_rc5-2.x86_64.rpm (from factory) grub: kernel /vmlinuz root=/dev/vg3/suse103 resume=/dev/sda11 vga=0x345 showopts acpi_sleep=s3_bios noapic edd=off (also tried without the options after showopts, no difference) suspend-to-ram works perfect, but resume does not work, the laptop hangs. On top of the display you can see "Linux!" in a yellow font. The harddisk light is on for a short time and the light of the moon-sign is always on. The only thing you can do is power-off. It seems that the problem is related to the sata problem described in http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Problems_with_SATA_and_Linux but this should be fixed with 2.6.19, and I use Opensuse 2.6.20/21 kernel and still have the problem. When I use the the Knoppix DVD from the german C'T magazine 2 weeks ago, resume works perfect after suspend-to-ram. The last (and only) message from suspend-to-ram I can see in /var/log/messages is kernel: ata2.00: disabled no messages from wake-up are available -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
