https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=229214 ------- Comment #12 from markgray+to-suse@puck.nac.net 2007-03-14 09:01 MST ------- Would a good temporary workaround be to rmmod the buggy acpi modules and let the BIOS control the fan? I have a personal interest in fan bugs because the multiple speed fan in one of my computers has not kicked into high speed mode since installing 10.2 (the room it is in is usually around 60 degree F (15 degree C) lately so I am not all that worried yet -- but summer is on the way). I had a hard disk failure on one of my laptops the very day I installed the kernel-default-2.6.18.8-0.1 update, and that machine was behaving like there was some sort of 5 second loop/hang going on just prior to the fan kicking in, so you can see that fan bugs can be deadly :-) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
