https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=241086 Summary: Installation path does not match projects standard path Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: OpenOffice.org AssignedTo: eward@novell.com ReportedBy: axel.braun@gmx.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Hi all, this is not an openoffice specific problem, also other packages are affected, but OO is a good example. And it applies to all SuSE-versions Fact: SuSE installs OO in /var/lib/somewhere, but openoffice.org installs in /opt/openoffice. Problem: Upgrades to newer releases are merely impossible. By installing the package from openoffice.org, the settings of SuSE-OO are lost, programs are not found and so on. The SuSE-OO has usually one or two month delay, and this is a problem if one is waiting for some bugfixes in the new release (as I do for calc). If SuSE sticks to the projects installation path, this problem can be avoided. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
