[Bug 239211] Xorg consumes up to 100% CPU-time when scrolling on websites with large images

Given the amount of issues we had due to OffscreenPixmaps (counting bugzilla
entries) - mostly rendering artifacts - I wonder whether it would be a good
idea to globally disable this acceleration?

Egbert, do you have an estimation how often offscreen pixmaps do any good? The
driver reserved 1024 x 7421 for offscreen data - that should be sufficient for
a *lot* of bitmaps... OTOH, if all animation elements of the banners get stored
there, it could very well be that each one kicks out the next...
