- From: bugzilla_noreply@xxxxxxxxxx
- Date: Tue, 23 Jan 2007 19:59:22 -0700 (MST)
- Message-id: <bug-238048-21960@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/>
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=238048
Summary: Please blacklist *opt/gnome* in autobuild
Product: openSUSE 10.3
Version: unspecified
Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
Severity: Enhancement
Priority: P5 - None
Component: GNOME
AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: andreas.hanke@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
QAContact: qa@xxxxxxx
Packages that try to install files into /opt/gnome, /etc/opt/gnome and
/var/opt/gnome should be rejected in autobuild (except for compatibility
packages that must use these directories for specific reasons).
This can be implemented with a brp script that checks for an environment
variable, so that individual packages can override the check if there's a very
good reason.
It's extremely important to blacklist /etc/opt/gnome and /var/opt/gnome as
well, just blacklisting /opt/gnome is not sufficient as it seems that some
packages happily continue using especially /etc/opt/gnome.[1]
