[Bug 232013] Installation failed on AMD x86-64 dual core and SATA Disk

I rechecked with the latest x86_64 default kernels in the kotd. The
kernel-default-2.6.18.5-SL102_BRANCH... kernel behaves like the installed
version (2.6.18.2-34). The kernel-default-2.6.20_rc5... (from HEAD) does not
have boot problems, as was the case with rc4. Both rc4 and rc5 show some
problems elsewhere. For example AppArmor does not start. But that is not an
issue for me.
My chipset is nVidia 430 (MCP51). If anyone is interested, I kept copies of
boot.msg, Xorg.0.log, and the relevant sections of the message and warn files
for both of the kernels above. There is some focussed effort along with
reports of success and failure with recent kotd's in bug 231205.
