you could also edit /etc/pm/config:SUSPEND_MODULES :-)

This might be Thomas' famous "ACPI is fscked up on HP" bug.

/etc/sysconfig/powersave is no longer used for suspend settings, pm-utils is
used now.

edit /etc/pm/config.

But if "modprobe -r button" does not work, it is a kernel problem IMO :-)
