The Java plugin in firefox does not work any longer.

It fails with a lot of error messages in the console (see below):

All components are updated to the most recent versions (Firefox 1.5.0.9, Java
1.5.0-10). It worked once, but I do not know since when it fails because I do
not need the java plugin very often.
Installed java components are:
java-1.5.0-sun
java-1.5.0-sun-devel (I need the JDK)
java-1.5.0-sun-src
java-1_4_2-gcj-compat-32bit

The directory "/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-sun-1.5.0_10/jre" contains only two
subdirs: lib and plugin

Do you have any idea what happened and how I could bring back the plugin ?
