Your chipset should already be supported by the radeon DRI driver. Couldn't you give it a try by adding 'Load "dri"' to Modules section of /etc/X11/xorg.conf?
Now I have added 'Load "dri"' of the configuration, and that works (as well as it did without). However it has further improved the 3D openGL performance by a factor of approximately 3 to approximately 500 FPS on glxgears. Thanks for that tip; at least it made google earth useable... However it is not a fix to the bug (cf. summary). But I believe it is a decision (cf. STATUS and RESOLUTION) that Novell will not put any effort (not even appeal to ATI) in getting a proprietary driver from ATI released for SUSE 10.2, correct? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
