[Bug 227111] Text is so large that system is unusable

I'm afraid I was confused by Stephan's comment saying my X config is hosed.
While xdpyinfo does say my display is 40 x 30 mm, I'm not sure why that is.
The only change I made since installing my system was to change the display
size to 578 x 324 mm. As mentioned previously, I then rebooted my machine to
restart the X-server and didn't notice any change.
