Summary: The forward option in Evolution cause serious problems
in current design
Product: SUSE Linux 10.1
Version: Final
Platform: i586
OS/Version: SuSE Linux 10.1
Status: NEW
Severity: Major
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Evolution
AssignedTo: kharish@xxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: alpha096@xxxxxxxxxx
QAContact: anagappan@xxxxxxxxxx

Request for Functional Change - due severe limitations of current design

When the Forward option is chosen for a message the original message is sent
attached to a new message

As this is an attachment this presents major problems communicating with any of
the many companies, authorities that not only strip all attachments from
inbound email but also often strip any HTML code and only leave plain text.

Under the current system of the forwarded email being an attachment, the
recipient at the Bank, and ANY Abuse,NOC,Webmaster,Support departments and just
about every ISP on the planet will receive a blank email.

The work around is to use the Reply and replace the return address with the
intended one, however this has a serious impact on the header information..

As it stands there is almost no value in the current method of forwarding
emails.
