I'm sorry if there is no DDC information from the monitor I cannot create a useful CDB entry
It used to work in many previous suse versions. The monitor has always been detected correctly (AFAIR).
From my suse 10.2beta cdb Monitor file I have this: #============================================== # P991 #---------------------------------------------- DELL:P991 { DDC=DEL5178 Option=DPMS Hsync=30-107 Vsync=48-120 }
So the entry is there. The monitor supports it: "using Display Data Channel (DDC) protocols so the system can configure itself and optimize the monitor settings" http://support.ap.dell.com/support/systemsinfo/document.aspx?c=ap&l=en&s=gen&~f=lg&~file=/monitors/p991/en/spec.htm suse-10.2beta: # hwinfo --monitor 23: None 00.0: 10000 Monitor [Created at fb.71] Unique ID: rdCR.EY_qmtb9YY0 Hardware Class: monitor Model: "Generic Monitor" Vendor: "Generic" Device: "Monitor" Resolution: 1280x1024@77Hz Driver Info #0: Max. I'll reopen the bugreport, I leave it up to you to put it to 'remind' if that is a better state to track this issue (I don't think so, but okay). It would be interesting to know, what the difference is between the "hwinfo --monitor" on 10.0 and 10.2! -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
