https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=222509 Summary: /dev/raw1394 not found Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Beta 2 Platform: i686 OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: peter.schlaf@web.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Programs like "kino" shipped with openSuSE 10.2 beta 2 are trying to open /dev/raw1394 in order to do video-capture from camcorders. But it seems that /dev/raw1394 has moved to /dev/raw/raw1394 in this distribution and "kino" complained that there is no 1394 subsystem and therefore couldn't do any capturing. "kino" does not offer a way to select another raw1394 device-file to open. In an attempt to solve this problem I created a symlink in /dev: cd /dev && ln -s raw/raw1394 raw1394 I don't know if this workaround is the right approach, but it makes "kino" happy and video-capture is working again. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
