https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=177298 btimothy@novell.com changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|NEW |ASSIGNED ------- Comment #4 from btimothy@novell.com 2006-11-17 11:47 MST ------- Joe, It looks like there are a few problems surrounding this: 1) Tomboy was not installing it's DBus "service" file in the proper place. I corrected this for 10.2 and it should be included in the next build (Bug #220656). 2) Tomboy is failing to register with DBus at startup. I get the following exception message calling DBus.Service.Get DBus.Bus.GetSessionBus (), "com.beatniksoftware.Tomboy");: Name 'com.beatniksoftware.Tomboy' does not exist. I need to figure out why this is happening. 3) Beagle must be sending DBus an incorrect message because it should at least cause Tomboy to start up. With the fix mentioned in #1, I can type the following and Tomboy will start up (replace the note uri with one that exists on your own box): dbus-send --dest=com.beatniksoftware.Tomboy \ /com/beatniksoftware/Tomboy/RemoteControl \ com.beatniksoftware.Tomboy.RemoteControl.DisplayNote \ string:'note://tomboy/e9fce555-3329-446e-a95e-9913584e7ad6' Finally, someone upstream is working to fix DBus in general for Tomboy by using the new DBusSharp (http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=357848). Perhaps we should suck that work in for 10.2? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
